The Close Nursery School Banbury

The Close Nursery School is privately owned and is situated in the grounds of the owners’ house belonging to Mr and Mrs Page.

There has been an established nursery on site for over 50 years

The nursery is very much part of our “family” and so provides a very homely environment for your child to stay in.

We are registered with OFSTED and our latest report can be found on the Ofsted website (click here for a link to the summary scores), and we also have a 5 star “scores on the doors” food and general hygiene rating.

We cater for children from 6 months upwards, and are very flexible in the range of hours offered. This includes a full time, 50 week per year contract which can include full time or part days in a week, or we can offer term time only places for those seeking to take advantage of the new Early Years Flexible 15 funding for eligible children.

We have three interconnecting rooms all of which open out onto the large garden area.

The rooms are:

The baby room which caters for 0 to 24 months;

The middle room which caters for 24 to 36 months; and

The big room which is the preschool room from 36 months upwards.

Major refurbishment and improvements have recently been completed including a safety surface on part of the outside area, and a large sand pit area that is undercover. Inside, our preschool room has been divided into defined areas which include a quiet area for reading, a discovery area, a maths area, a free art area, a computer area and an extensive “home corner”, as well as an open area in which to play freely with resources of choice. We have also got a “funky junk percussion dustbin” which contains all the instruments to make loud and interesting music!

We have extensive outside facilities including a covered sandpit and slide area, a woodland walk, a digging area (which is great to find worms in) rabbits, and a vegetable patch.
